Bio
b: 1968, Pennsylvania. Watson received her BFA degree from The Pennsylvania State University 1991, and MFA from The University of Maryland in 2010.
Watson's work has been featured in many solo and group shows including WPA Options Biennial 2011, Obscurities at Goucher College, and Art MD 2010. In February, 2013, Watson's work will be featured in a solo exhibition at McDaniel College's Rice Gallery."
Reviews of her work have been published in The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Washington CityPaper, and New Art Examiner among others. She was also a featured artist on Maryland Public Television's Artworks This Week.
Watson received Individual Artist Grants from Maryland State Arts Council in 2001 2007, and 2011 and in 2004 was a Trawick Prize finalist and SemiFinalist in 2012. She is The University of MarylandÂ’ Sadat Art for Peace Sculpture prize winner for 2010.
Along with creating her own work, she is a curator, exhibition designer, community artist, volunteer, teacher, and parent. Watson is a Founder of and currently Exhibitions Director for Area 405, a 6000+ square foot alternative exhibition space in Baltimore, Md and she tends to the 30 some artists who have studio space in the 160 year old building. Watson lives and works in Baltimore's Station North Arts and Entertainment District and has been a proud Baltimorean since 1993.
