This final series of 2009 continues to explore the opaque layering of hard lines but color decisions became increasingly important to me with these most recent paintings.

The series of paintings presented in these ten projects are arranged in reverse chronological order. By beginning at the bottom (2006 Video Series) and moving forward the evolution of the work over the last several years can be seen.

This series of paintings from 2008 was made after returning from my artist residency in California. I had impulses and ideas bottled up and ready to go but little idea of where they would end up.

"Baltimore-based abstract painter Greg Minah recently spent a month in the Mojave Desert completing the 2008 Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency program. Minah was one of nine artists from around the world selected for this year's residency. The light, landscape and isolation of the high desert profoundly influenced Minah as he completed the 14 new paintings in this series."

The experience of being alone with my work for one month in the desert is very hard to describe. It was one of the most important things to happen to me and my painting and the work took a noticeable turn after the experience.
